Build the catalog once
Under Camp Store, every item gets a name, a price, and optionally: a barcode, a category, a photo, a taxable flag, and a stock count. Track stock on the things you reorder (firewood, ice, propane) and skip it on the things you don't care to count. Categories become the filter chips on the register, so “Drinks” is one tap away during the Saturday rush.
The register
The register — scan or tap, then cash, card, or charge it to the site.
Scan a barcode or tap the grid; the cart totals with tax. Then one of three buttons:
- Cash — recorded, receipt offered, next customer.
- Card — ring the card on the terminal you already own, then record it here so the books match the bank.
- Charge to site— the sale lands on the guest's reservation as a line item and settles with their balance: one click against their card on file, or cash at checkout. The camper's kid gets the ice cream; nobody runs back to the RV for a wallet.
Hardware you already have (or can buy anywhere)
Barcode scanners that plug into USB or pair over Bluetooth act as keyboards — they type the code and press enter. Any of them works; there are no drivers and no approved-device list. Receipts print from the browser's print dialog formatted for standard 72mm thermal paper, so the receipt printer in your drawer probably works too.
Refunds and the paper trail
Refunding a store sale restocks the items and, if the sale was charged to a site, reverses the charge on the reservation — one action, both ledgers correct. Every sale, tender, and refund flows into reportsalongside bookings, with store sales tax tracked separately using your store tax rate and each item's taxable flag.
